Meet Sonia

Sonia’s passion for caring for and teaching children began early in her life and has guided her career for more than two decades. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area alongside her close-knit family, Sonia grew up surrounded by strong family values, community, and the importance of creating a loving home environment — principles that continue to shape Tia Daycare today.

For the past 10+ years, Sonia has proudly operated Tia Daycare from her home, providing loving care and meaningful early learning experiences for children ages 6 months to 4 years old. Through hands-on activities, guided play, structured routines, and positive social interaction, she helps children grow emotionally, socially, and academically while building confidence, independence, and important life skills. Sonia also places a strong emphasis on respectful behavior, communication, and helping children learn positive social habits in a supportive environment. As part of the daily learning experience, children are also introduced to bilingual language development through exposure to both English and Spanish in a natural, engaging setting.

Over the years, Sonia has built lasting relationships with the families she has cared for — many of whom she still stays connected with more than 20 years later. The name “Tia,” meaning “aunt,” reflects the heart of her philosophy: every child is cared for like family. She believes children thrive when they feel safe, loved, and genuinely connected to the people around them, and she strives to create that feeling for every family who walks through her doors.
